Close Out Summer Right: Your 2026 Labor Day Weekend Guide to the Lehigh Valley
Labor Day Weekend is here, and while it may be the unofficial end of summer, there’s still plenty of time for one more great weekend around the Lehigh Valley.
From live music under the Bethlehem Steel stacks to one of the region’s biggest annual traditions in Allentown, Easton, Bethlehem and Allentown all have something worth getting out of the house for. Here are a few of our picks for Labor Day Weekend 2026, September 4–7.
EASTON
Funky Ferments Fest at Easton Farmers’ Market

Start Saturday morning along the river at Easton Farmers' Market. The market is hosting its fifth annual Funky Ferments Fest, celebrating everything fermented, foraged and pickled.
Along with the market's 50+ local and regional vendors, expect special activities including the return of the Kraut Mob sauerkraut-making event and live music from the Fermenters Trio.
Afterward, make an afternoon of it with lunch, shopping and a walk around Downtown Easton.
One Last Summer Day Along the River
If you're looking for something a little more active, Labor Day Weekend is a great excuse to spend a final summer day around Easton's waterfront. Walk or bike the trails, explore Hugh Moore Park, or simply grab something to eat downtown and enjoy the riverfront.
Sometimes the best way to end summer is the simplest: get outside and enjoy it while it's still here.
BETHLEHEM
Free Labor Day Weekend Concerts at SteelStacks

The Levitt Pavilion's free concert season continues throughout Labor Day Weekend with three nights of music:
Friday, September 4: The Psycodelics — 7:30 PM
Saturday, September 5: Judy Blank — 7:30 PM
Sunday, September 6: Adam Ezra Group — 7:30 PM
Bring a blanket or lawn chair, find your spot and enjoy one more outdoor concert before summer slips away.
Spend an Afternoon Exploring Bethlehem
Before the concert, give yourself a few hours to enjoy Bethlehem. Walk the Historic Moravian District, explore the SouthSide, grab dinner at a local restaurant and then head toward SteelStacks as the sun starts going down.
It's an easy way to turn a free evening concert into a full Labor Day Weekend outing.
ALLENTOWN
The Great Allentown Fair

You can't really talk about Labor Day Weekend in the Lehigh Valley without talking about the Great Allentown Fair.
The longtime Labor Day tradition takes over The Allentown Fairgrounds through Monday, September 7, with midway rides, games, food, entertainment, agricultural exhibits and plenty of classic fair atmosphere. The 2026 fair also has a special patriotic theme celebrating America's 250th birthday.
The fair is open noon–10 PM Saturday and Sunday and noon–9 PM on Labor Day Monday. Children 12 and under receive free gate admission, and veterans and active-duty military personnel receive free admission Sunday with ID. Seniors 65+ receive free admission Monday with ID.
Make It a Classic Fair Night
If you haven't been to the fair in years, this might be the weekend to change that. Grab something fried that probably shouldn't be fried, hit a few midway rides, catch some entertainment and stay until the lights come on.
The midway opens at 1 PM Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day Monday, giving families plenty of time to make a full afternoon or evening of it.
One More Weekend to Enjoy Home
One of the things we love about living in the Lehigh Valley is that you don't have to travel far to find something worth doing. Within a short drive, you can spend Saturday morning along the river in Easton, Saturday night listening to live music in Bethlehem and Sunday or Monday enjoying one of Pennsylvania's classic fairs in Allentown.
So before the school schedules fill up, football season takes over and fall officially arrives, make some time to enjoy one more summer weekend close to home.
